DIRSI partner organises Mobile 2.0: Beyond voice?
DIRSI's partner, LIRNEasia, organised a pre-conference workshop on “Mobile2.0: Beyond Voice?” at the annual meeting of the International Communication Association – ICA . Over two days (20 and 21 May 2009) twenty-four papers were presented at seven sessions and Tim Kelly from the World Bank's infoDev programme offered the keynote presentation.
Two DIRSI members presented papers at the workshop. Aileen Agüero (Peru) discussed Education, Mobile Phone Use and Production Decisions: A Rural Case Study in Peru and Luis Fernando Gamboa (Colombia) presented The Strategic Use of Mobile Phones Among Poor People in Some Latin American Countries.
