Kim Mallalieu (Ph.D.) is the Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of the West Indies (UWI). She additionally has direct responsibility for the academic, commercial and outreach programmes in Communication Systems in the department. She is the developer and coordinator of UWI's Master's degree in Regulation and Policy with a specialization in Telecommunications, the MRP (Telecommunications).
Kim is a Fulbright Fellow and a graduate of MIT and UCL. She is the recipient of local, regional and international teaching awards as well as other awards of recognition. She has served on various boards, including the Board of the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago and has also sat on the advisory council to the Boards of academic journals, including the International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education.
Dr Mallallieu is a member of the Latin American and Caribbean academic network, Diálogo Regional sobre Sociedad de la Información (DIRSI), which is engaged in research on pro-poor ICT policy and regulatory intervention.
