Ben A.
Petrazzini is Program Manager of ICT4D Programs in the Americas at the
Interntional Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada. Prior to his current position Mr. Petrazzini
was Senior Policy Advisor with the Office of the Secretary General of the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and representative of the ITU to
the United Nations in New York. He was also a member of the United Nations
Information and Communication Technology Task Force (UN ICT Task Force)
Secretariat and the ITU representative for the World Summit on the Information
Society in New York. Mr. Petrazzini
holds a Ph.D. in Communication from University of California, San Diego, an MA
in Social Sciences and a law degree. He
was Assistant Professor at the Business School of The Hong Kong University of
Science and Technology. He also served
as an advisor to the National Congress of Argentina, and taught at the National
University of Buenos Aires. He has
consulted with government and private enterprises on ICT matters. Mr. Petrazzini has published extensively on
issues related to Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) in
developing countries.
