48 applications received for DIRSI's Young Researchers Fellowship

July 30th was the deadline for applications to DIRSI's Fourth edition of Young Researchers competition.

Forty-eight proposals were received from 12 countries in Latin America, namely Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico and Uruguay. Twenty two of the applicants were women. 

As in past editions, about three quarters of the applicants have a social sciences background, engineering sciences making up the rest. The selection committee is currently evaluating the proposals, a process that will be completed by 17 August. Following that the winners will be announced.
