The deadline for paper proposals has passed.
The Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies invites submissions of paper proposals for its 40th anniversary congress. With area studies showing that reports of its demise after the end of the Cold War were greatly exaggerated, and models of globalization shaken by recent events, CALACS seeks to commemorate its 40 years by featuring work that is exploring a new agenda for area studies in Latin America and the Caribbean. Participants are encouraged to situate their proposals within the congress theme, however papers are welcome on all topics of interest in Latin American and Caribbean studies.
